Saturday, 19 Feb 2022 at 11:00 AM. Monthly Program Meeting.
This will be a hybrid meeting held in-person in the Meeting Room/Jenkins B and online via Zoom. Registration is only required for Zoom attendees.

Topic: “Ancestors on the Move: Migration from Farms to Cities, 1870–1920.”  The 1870 census was the first time farmers fell below 50% of American wage earners. Even then, they were still close, at 47.7%. By 1920, farmers were less than one third of the American population. Between 1870 and 1920, 11 million Americans migrated to cities. Learn about the events that spurred this migration and changed our ancestors from rural to urban dwellers and how to reconstruct their stories. Presented by Annette Burke Lyttle,

Annette has been a full-time genealogist and family historian since 2012. She holds a master’s degree in English from the University of Michigan and a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Northern Illinois University. Annette is a member of the Association of Professional Genealogists and subscribes to their code of ethics. You can find her at www.heritagedetective.com
