The "Scottish Indexes" website offers a rather unique collection of databases that may aid in any Scottish genealogy research you are interested in. They have expected things like censuses (1841, 1851, 1861), but they have unexpected things also: criminal records, mental health entries, paternity index, etc.
Much of the information is available to search and view, but some of the research trails lead to a paywall when it comes to seeing actual records.
This is a fun site to paw around in, so be sure and allocate enough time.
