What value do local South Florida cemeteries provide for historic preservation? Join to learn how you may participate in restoring, documenting & voicing histories of the past for future generations!

Join The African American Research Library & Cultural Center in collaboration with Collaborative Ancestral Burial Societies* (CABS) for our biennial Sacred Burial Ground update.  
The panel dialog will focus on researching family roots and uncovering the history of Ancestral Burial Sites. Various African/Caribbean American cemeteries will be discussed including Woodlawn, Westview Community Gardens (Pompano), Knowles (Deerfield-Broward), Lincoln, and Evergreen Memorial Gardens (Miami-Dade).  Featured panelists/invited guests include Hazel Armbrister, Roberto Fernandez III (History Broward), Gloria Battle (Deerfield), and John Allen, Coral Gables Museum.  Dr. Ramona La Roche will serve as moderator.

*Coral Gables Museum, Branhilda Richardson Knowles Memorial Park and Historic Cemetery, History Broward, Woodlawn Cemetery, Genealogical Society of Broward County (GSBC) Education Committee and National Afro American Historical and Genealogical Society.
