The Jewish Genealogical Society of Tampa Bay will meet at Gulf Coast Jewish Family and Community Services, 14041 Icot Blvd., Clearwater, Florida on Sunday January 10, 2016 presenting Bill Israel speaking on "Finding Your Jewish Roots; Bringing Your Past To Life." He will emphasize the fundamentals of genealogical research and will explain the unique challenges and rewards of Jewish genealogy. He will discuss how to get started with some widely available research resources, and he will illustrate his talk with examples of how he was able to discover his own family history as well as showing generic examples that everyone can relate to. This talk will be of particular interest to novices, but it will also serve as a refresher and an update for more experienced researchers.
A social with refreshments and library access begins at 1:30 PM, and the featured program starts at 2:00 PM.
