URL Shortner From Google

In a recent edition of his Online Newsletter, Dick Eastman responded to a reader question about confusing web addresses the reader had been seeing. They included "goo.gl" and the reader wanted to know what they were all about.

Dick explained that they were shortened URL produced by a utility available from Google. This is a relatively new capability that is free.

You may not use the utility, but even so, you may want to know what is behind those mysterious looking web addresses.
